Good News!

So we're trying to build a house. We weren't going to start until September, but then someone said we should start in January. We had thought that the frozen tundra of Rexburg was undiggable at such a time, but apparently it can be done. We found a contractor who is giving us a "smokin' deal" and we're on our way. Last week he said he wanted to start digging but he would need word from the bank that we were good to go. We had been pre-approved for a loan, but we needed a few things before it could be finalized. When we went back to sign papers last Thursday we were informed that an appraiser would have to look at our land and plans and then papers could be written up and it could take up to two weeks. WHAT! We were not prepared for such a set-back. The goal is to be finished by May so two weeks is a big deal.
By now you may be wondering what the good news is. Well, Friday night we got a call from the appraiser who said he had finished with our appraisal. The bank called today and said we could sign papers tomorrow! We were hoping for this Friday at the earliest and now it will be done Tuesday! Our contracter plans to begin digging on Wednesday.
